Nissan Repair: cost for parts and labor

I own a 1994 Nissan Maxima SE V6. My valve cover gaskets need to be changed.  A repair shop quoted $500 for parts and labor.  Is this a good price?

Hi Annetta -

That is a bit high. The labor is high because the intake manifold will need to be removed to access the firewall side of the valve cover, but it should not be that much. I would say $300 would be the limit for this work.
