Nissan Repair: waterpump replacement

Question
on a 1994 Nissan maxima se, the water pump needs to be replaced. a mechanic shop quoted $425 for parts and labor to do the job including timing belt and tensioner. is the price average for the job

Answer
Hi Annetta -

If the cost includes timing belt, tensioner, water pump, it is reasonable. Might want to replace the thermostat as well. Last thing you want is for that to fail and the car overheats. It is only a few dollars more.

Hope this helps -
