Nissan Repair: 2003 Murano SL Hatch

The hatch doesn't open when I use the alarm fob. I hear it click but it stays locked. The handle to open doesn't move freely, it stays where you put it. Any ideas? Can it be opened from inside in order to get to the release?

Hi Richie -

It looks like the latch mechanism is binding. The first thing I would do is check the alignment of the latch to the catch. Then lubricate the latch assembly until the handle moves freely.

If that does not work it is probably the latch solenoid.
