Nissan Repair: Quest liftgate button

Question
I saw a previous post about the rear liftgate button falling inside the panel. This has happened for the second time on my wife's 2009 Quest. The first time, it was fixed by the dealer but the extended warranty has since run out so I'm on my own. Can you offer advice as to how to get the panels off?

Answer
Hi Brian -

This seems to be a popular thing with the Quests.

The rear tailgate panels come off with a combination of snap and screws. The bottom area you may just slide a putty knife between the panel and metal gate and it should pop right out. Once you get the panel off, you will see the fallen assembly.

You will probably need parts as most of the assembly is plastic.

Hope this helps -
