Nissan Repair: Master Switch Replacement, nissan xterra, xterras

Question
QUESTION: How do I replace the master window/power door switch in a 2005 Nissan Xterra.  I was told y one person that it can be popped out and by another that you have to remove the entire door panel?

ANSWER: Hi Mark -

The master switch can be popped out and replaced that way. This is typical of the Xterras and Pathfinders. The clips should be toip and bottom of the switch.

QUESTION: Ok  I replaced the switch which I was told was the problem by the dealer and that didn't fix the window.  How do I remove the interior front left door panel to gain access to the window motor regulator and wiring?

Answer
Hi Mark -

The panel is removed by using a putty knife to unsnap the edges of the panel, which is held by clips. You will have to remove the door handle trim and perhaps the arm rest anchors. The arm rest, if I am not mistaken is also snapped in. Pry that out carefully and you should see the 2 screws that hold that part of the panel.

Once that is out, then you will be able to remove the panel, and access the door hardware.
