Nissan Repair: Nissan Engine Swap/Issues, engine swap issues, body bolts

Question
Hello Von,
I have a 1991 Pathfinder that was basically junked when i bought it, since then i have replaced the fuel system, swapped out the engine with a 3.0L hardbody engine and replaced starter, PS pump, etc.  The only proble i had after the shoddy engine swap was my throttle cables were not hooked up to the harness, but it ran great for almost a year.  I took it into the mountains the other week and the tranny was acting up the entire trip, would drop into 2nd i think and rev uintil; like 5500, blowing oil and not sounding good.  I drove it nice and easy as much as possible but then the next day it was like the idle speed was off and even once i warmed it up , the engine was acting like it was either getting no spark or fuel..  Any ideas on how to get it runnig enouhg to get it to my shop?

Answer
Ernie,

The distributor has oil in it and that is what is causing the rough running.  The transmission kickdown cable should be adjusted at full pull when the throttle is on the floor. Tighten the throttle body bolts and clean the throttle body for the idle problem too.  Make sure there are no air leaks between the air meter and the throttle body.
