Nissan Repair: 1997 Nissan Pathfinder 3.3l engine, volume test, nissan pathfinder

Trying to help a co worker with a proble, His car, 1997 Pathfinder, 2wd 3.3l engine, auto trns. Problem started after driving on an unpaved road. The vehicle will start and idle, but after driving it will sputter and stall. May or maynot restart right away. When we try to accelerate the engine it will accelerate if you go slowly, if trying to accelerate fast it sputters and dies. Sometimes blowing fuel spray back up thru the TBI. We have checked it with a code reader and it leaves no codes.

I would check the fuel pump. There are 2 tests that can be done -

Pressure test - should be at least 45 PSI
Volume test - remove the fuel line from the injector rail and hold a contiainer under the line while someone turns the ignition on. You should get a cup of gas in about 3 seconds or less.
