Nissan Repair: p1320 code just wont go away, trouble code, coils

Question
I have a 2000 maxima with no misfire and P1320 code stored in it .What could be causing it ? Plugs are Denso and coils are aftermarket. Car runs and starts fine ,but, lately coils have been going and I have to go and replace them. Any answers ? The stupid SES light and code is still there.

Answer
Hi there, the coils are the primary problem for Nissan. I do not recommend the replacement of any parts till the problem is identified. All coils cannot fail at the same time, so one could cause the code p1320 to come up. Since the coils are not cheap, try to isolate the suspected misfiring cylinder with a good scanner tool. Then remove the coil of that cylinder and swap it with the one of a different cylinder. If the scanner tool indicates that the misfiring jumped to the other cylinder and the suspected cylinder works properly, then replace that coil. At this point, however, I recommend that a qualified technician takes a look at the problem, because it could be something else that brings up the trouble code, other than a faulty coil, in the primary ignition wiring or at ECU.
