Nissan Repair: 1999 nissan wont start, nissan sentra gxe, nissan sentra

Hi, I have a 1999 nissan sentra GXE 1.6L. was going to work one morning car went maybe 1/2 a block then car completely shut off. Had to have it towed back home. Still had power though... replaced fuel filter,fuel pump,starter and battery... still wont start. What else can I do?

Hi Kat -

First of all we need to determine if it is spark or fuel.

Remove one spark plug lead and insert a screwdriver firmly in the boot until it wedges against the metal terminal inside. Have a helper try and start the car while you hold the screwdriver about 1/4" away from any surface. There should be a spark jumping between the 2 metal surfaces. If not, then I would replace the ignition module, located in the distributor.
