Nissan Repair: 97 Nissan Altima anti knock sensor, nissan altima, faulty sensor

Can the anti knock sensor be affected by a bad lifter?
Where is the sensor located EXACTLY?

I pretty much doubt that! It detects pinging and not misfiring. The knock sensor is *always* located on the engine block. Look under the exhaust manifold, if it's a 4 cylinder engine, look near the oil filter.I do not recommend a home garage remove and replace attempt! It's really a hard job. If you get a knock sensor trouble code, it is wise to check what sets this code because it could be another reason and not a faulty sensor.
