Nissan Repair: A/c wont turn on, 2007 nissan sentra, nissan sentra

My wife has a 2007 Nissan sentra the a/c will not turn on at all an  the lights that light up the knobs for the a/c are not on. but the other dash lights work.  I cant seem to find what the issue is..

Hi Vince -

There are a couple things you can check -

First of all, fuses. There may be 2 of them:

Under dash drivers side where your left leg is at. Pull open the cover and they all should be labeled.

In the engine compartment, on the fender well. These are your large circuit fuses and relays.

If all the fuses are OK, then it could be low on freon. There is a pressure switch that does not allow the system to turn on if the pressures are wrong (low on freon).
Take it to a competent mechanic so he can connect his manifold test gauges.
