Question
"Left turn signal/brake light/headlight system:
I just bought the Nissan sentra 2001 and When I turn on my left turn signal and it works fine until I press on the brake then the signal dims way down, the rear brake light flashes, and the signal indicator on the dash board flashed dimly.
It will getting worse when the head light are on.
I try to open my trunk slowly to be wider than suddenly the signal light come brightly.
It is only for the left turn signal, then right turn signal works great. Would you give me some advise how to fix it? I want to do it by myself. I have a multimeter and know how to deal with electrical. Please guide me, thank you so much."

Answer
Please check the "Hazard" switch first. Disconnect the electrical connection from the hazard switch and apply brakes, turn signal and headlights. If you see any changes, replace the switch. Next, make sure that all positive contacts and grounds by the turn/brake bulbs are clean and in good condition and all the bulbs are good also. A loose connection will cause the lights to dim. A poor ground will do the same. But I believe that the hazard switch is the culprit.
