Nissan Repair: wipers on an off, circuitboard, motor assembly

2002 altima (10/01) 3.5 motor. i turn the wipers on and they run for approx 6 sec then stop. then about 10-15 sec later they come on again. when i shut them off they wont return to the lay down postion.this vehicle does not have separate relays.i looked at the circuit board and does not look like a plug and play but then again it may be i don't know. how do i know if its the circuit board or the motor, thanks for your help.

Hi Mike -

The wipers work off a cam. This cam keeps the wipers on until the the wipers are parked despite when you turn off the switch. Located next to the motor. I believe you can just replace the cam/circuitboard separately from the motor. You will have to remove the motor assembly.
