Nissan Repair: 94 nissan sentra 1.6, nissan sentra, vapor lock

Question
QUESTION: my sentra started missing badly. i replaced the spark plugs, and that didn't help. a new fuel filter didn't either.  friend of mine suggested the injectors.  we pulled the plug wires, so see which one it may be.  i then replaced that injector with another. didn't help at all.  the problem moved to another injector after that. i've taken the fuel rail off and cleaned it numerous times.  all vacuum hoses check out good.  fuel pump is good also.  egr valve seems to still be good.  the motor had a vapor lock on it the other day, so i removed the plugs and just turned the motor over to relieve it.  had to do this numerous times to get all the fuel out of the motor.  when it does run, i've got fuel coming out of the exhaust in front of the motor.  even trying to come through the o2 sensor.  i'm at a loss...

ANSWER: Hi Nick -

Have you taken a compression test on your engine? If not, I would advise it and let me know.

QUESTION: yes, the compression test came out good.  today, it ran for 15 minutes without the fuel pump even being hooked up...from all the gas already there...

Answer
Hi Nick -

Looks like the engine is getting flooded. Somehow the fuel is entering the intake throat. Perhaps the cold start valve is stuck open? Check that.

With the ignition on, do you hear the pump constantly running? Perhaps it could be the relay.

hope this helps -
