Nissan Repair: Motor Mount, stepper motor, side firewall

Question
QUESTION: The motor mounts when bad on my 2004 Altima. They replace the front mount with a regular mount not a electric on. Will this cause a problem with my car. I hear a noise near the dash not sure if that is from not having a electric motor mount.

ANSWER: Hi Shirley -

I need more explanation. Motor mounts do not have any electrical component in them, they are simply rubber attached to a metal frame that absorbs the shock between the car frame and the motor.

Can you please clarify?

QUESTION: This is the information I got from the dealer replaced the right side (firewall) electric motor mount with a non-electric motor mount and left the old stepper motor attached to the original wiring vehicle should have the correct engine mount installed. I hope this helps

Answer
Hi Shirley -

I would have them replace it with what the manufacturer recommends. The original has a wire connected to it, going to a sensor. I am doubtful it is causing the noise in your dash, but I would have them replace it with the one with the wire anyway.

Hope this helps -
