Nissan Repair: engine oil leaks, engine oil leaks, oil filler cap

Question
QUESTION: Hi my wifes 1990 1.6l PULSAR keeps leaking oil from oil filler cap it seems to be getting worse i have changed filler cap and rocker cover seal and this did not fix problem any suggestions thanks Jason.

ANSWER: Hi Jason -

Try checking your PCV and hose for blockage. Remove the PCV valve and shake it. If you don't hear it moving inside, then it is clogged and needs a new one. Somehow you are getting pressure in the crankcase and that could be the problem.

QUESTION: Hi where is the pcv valve located is it on the firewall rhside and is it plastic that pulls out from a rubber grommit if not then where is it thanks.

Answer
Hi Jason

I think that's it. Hard to tell from the description, but there is a 3/8" vacuum hose between the valve cover and the intake throat, at the end lies the valve. Yes, it could be plastic and there is a rubber grommet and you can just pull it out.
