Nissan Repair: stutter surge and loss of power,popping, fuel pressure regulator, pressure tester

I have a '95 nissan 4x4 pick-up 3.0 se v-6...the last few days I've noticed a stuttering sensation similar to a transmision slippage, but has increased to as I increaseacceleration I get a popping and loss of power.I changed the distributor,rotor., then fuel filter.,wondering if I should turn to the fuel pump,or maybe the fuel pressure regulator.the motor runs great.,any help would be greatly appreciated

I would definitely check the fuel pump out. Ensure it not only has the pressure, but the volume of fuel as well.

You can do this at home if you have a pressure tester. Should be about 40psi or greater. Volume should fill a cup (8 oz) in about 3 seconds.
