Nissan Repair: 1993 nissan 300zx 2+2 break light?, nissan 300zx, older cars

hello, i'm really hoping you can help me out. today i went to a dealer to check out a 93 nissan 300zx, took it for a test drive and noticed every time i pressed on the breaks a red light came on in the dash, i asked the sales person why it was doing this and they said it could be a fuse, or it could be normal in older cars to tell you when your pressing on the breaks. i cant find the answer anywhere. is this normal for this type of car? please help!

No. This is not normal. However I need to know the type of light. Is there an icon on it? If so, can you describe it or send me a pic?

Could be just low on brake fluid, pads, or a brake light out. Or could be the ABS system (if so equipped). All depends on what kind of light is coming on. If it is the latter, I would not buy the car.
