Nissan Repair: Speedometer, seat belt replacement, speedometer cable

My Speedometer has stopped working on my Nissan Caravan KG-VwE25, also one of the seetbelts has ceased to retract this is all since an alarm was fitted, is this related???
We are a charity childrens home with very limited funds...Can you help us???

Hi Al -

Yes, very well could be related, depending on what type of alarm you have installed. The seat belt replacement can get very costly. Your best bet is to return the vehicle to where the alarm was installed, and have them retrace their work. Perhaps somewhere they disconnected the speedometer cable and did not re-install.
