Nissan Repair: 93 nissan sentra blower not working, nissan sentra, power key

Question
QUESTION: I just purchased this car and the blower does not work.  I read to check the blue/red wire for power, key and switch on, there is no power.  The fuses are good and I ran power to the blower motor and it works.  Do you think the switch could be bad?  If so could you show a replacement diagram, or do I need to check something else?

ANSWER: Hi Tina -

You might want to check power to the resistor, or rheostat. This should be located on the firewall, driver side, or under dash passenger side. If you have power to one side, and no power the other, then replace it.

QUESTION: What are the possibilities of the switch being bad and do you have some type of diagram that you could send to me?

Thank you,
Tina

Answer
Hi Tina -

The switch does not usually go bad. However it is possible.

Have you checked the resistor yet? That would be the most common cause of the fan going out.

As for wiring diagrams, I do not have them for this particular model. However, if you get your hands on a Chilton or Haynes Manual, wiring diagrams are in there.
