Nissan Repair: nissan serena mr20 engine check light ON, coolant level, radiator cap

Hi Calvin
My check light came on accompanied by a complete loss of throttle power,full function returned after I switched off and restarted.I also experience a loss of power after the red temperature light comes on. Please advise.

Hi Stephen -

If the car is running hot, do not drive it. When it is cold, remove the radiator cap and check the coolant level. Bring it to the top and try running it. Could be a stuck thermostat if it continues to run hot.

First step is to find out why the engine light came on. You need to put it on an "OBD" to determine what made the light come on, as it could be hundreds of sensors. I think Autozone will do it for free. Once you give me that code, we can diagnose from there.
