Nissan Repair: battery not charging, nissan pulsar, battery terminal

Question
i recently purchased a 1985 nissan pulsar. It was running fine for a while but after a week began to become hard to start and now it refuses to turn over alltogether. I have had the battery cheaked and the alternator and they are in good working order would you be able to provide some advice

Answer
Jake,

If the battery and alternator check good you either have a drain on the system or you have a bad wire from the alternator to the battery.  Now, there is a fuse link and or fuse from the battery terminal to the alternator.  Check this and see if you are getting 14.2 volts when the system is running.  If not there is a break in the wire or the alternator is not charging.  Back to the battery drain thing.  Make sure you check all the systems in the car and see that none are being left on after the vehicle is turned off.
