Nissan Repair: 1998 nissan primera wagon ctv, vacuum leak, nissan primera

at low revs it sounds like its missing and nearly dies, I have to rev it up for a while, but while I'm driving its fine, but while idling it coughs and splatters, I've changed the plugs and have the same result, could it be the petrol filter? if so were abouts is it? please help.

I doubt if it is the petrol filter, otherwise you will have problems at higher speeds as well, like the engine feels starved of petrol.

First thing that comes to mind for me is a vacuum leak. please check all hoses to make sure they are connected, not cracked or broken. best way is to have it idle, and spray carb cleaner lightly at different parts of the engine. When you spray at a location and the idle improves, you have found the area of the vacuum leak.
