Nissan Repair: 92 nissan sentra balljoint, nissan sentra, haynes manual

Question
Hello, my 92 sentra xe, needs a lower balljoint. i bought a balljoint for it, and is similar but slightly longer than whats there. they both have a groove that takes a snap ring. My question is: is the original ball joint made to be removed? the haynes manual says after 87 replace whole control arm. basically it seems pressed in pretty good and maybe its just a job for a machine shop. or if its not removable, i'll just get a control arm?
Looking foward to hearing your opinion, thanks much,

Answer
Hi Jon -

the ball joint is replaceable - however you will need a special press to remove and install. By the time you pay for that, you might as well replace the lower control arm for a little more. So I would suggest replacing the arm, including the bushings, excellent time to do that. With a few tools you can do that yourself.

Hope this helps -
