I Have a 2007 Nissan Murano, the air con is not working and it sounds like the belt is slipping badly, can this belt be adjusted and how? or how is this repaired?

I would suspect the air conditioner compressor is locking up.  Remove the belt and turn the key to on, engine not running, and hand turn the compressor at the pulley.  It is probably not going to turn.  Now, switch off the key and the air conditioner and the pulley should spin.  If this is the case you need to replace the compressor and receiver dryer and have the system recharged.
