Nissan Repair: 1996 Nissan Terrano, air gap, drive shaft

Question
I just had a transmission kit put on my 1996 Terrano. I took it to another mechanic to check the seal of the drive shaft and he wondered if the bellhousing for the transmission should not be more flush to whatever it is attached to.  He showed me that there is the slightest space and he wants me to check to with the first mechanic (who is suppose to be the islands expert on transmissions)to see if it should be tightened. Do you have a photo of underneath a Terrano's transmission to show how the housing should look so when I go back to the first mechanic I can know what I am talking about?

Answer
Lorraine,

No photograph is necessary.  If the transmission does not but up to the engine block there is something in between them or it is not tightened down enough.  I would have the first shop put it on a lift and show you how it matches up.  If there is any air gap something is wrong and needs to be adjusted or tightened.
