Nissan Repair: 2004 Nissan Sentra transmission problem, nissan sentra, nissan dealer

Question
Car comes with a qg16 with CVTC. i have been experiencing a transmission delay. after the car is parked for a couple hours, i start it and put it in drive, normally the gear would change to drive but instead,it now remains neutral until i hit the accelerator. It gets worse and worse as days goes by. I went to three mechanics who ran diagnostics (which was very costly) but came up empty-handed. please help me ..

Answer
Ashton,

The transmission is going out due to lack of lubrication as in the fluid is low.  Not possible since you took it in and had it diagnosed.  Second, the filter could be clogged.  But, since Nissan uses a screen there is little possibility of that.  Lastly, the valve body has servos that control the shifting.  If first gear is going then the clutches are gone or the computer is not applying the gear until pressure builds.  As in, you press the gas, get the RPMs up and then it applies.  I am sorry to say I think the transmission needs a rebuild.  A Nissan dealer could put it on a Consult II or Consult III scan tool and read the transmission computer and let you know what is going on before you spend the bucks for a rebuild.  Have then install a transmission cooler when they replace the transmission to make the new transmission last longer.
