Nissan Repair: serena fanfault, front wheel drive, bushings

I have a 95 serena estate and the yellow fan (under the gear stick area has apparentley come off its shaft but I cant get at it.   Do i have to jack vehicle up and remove protective plate under sump.  It is making an horrendous noise as the blades rub against something metallic. Any ideas please

Front wheel drive requires that the vehicle be jacked up and the linkage be accessed from under the car.  You probably have shifter bushings that have worn out or the rear engine mount has failed and caused the shifter linkage to be mis-aligned.
