Nissan Repair: 1995 nissan maxima, air control valve, nissan maxima

Question
QUESTION: Sorry I had to ask another question. Can only do 3. Haven't had a chance to get MAP (Boost) sensor replaced. Did adjust IACV. Still stalling. Won't rev past 3500-4000 rpm. As soon as I can afford it I will replace MAP sensor. According to Nissan there isn't a MAP sensor just a "boost" sensor. Can you bypass MAP sensor to get it to run?

ANSWER: Chris,

My bad on the MAP sensor for your year.  Try the following from rockauto.com  Both are the same part and it is just a matter of price.

evap/boost sensor
QUESTION: I put the airtex/wells one on there and it ran great for 1 day. I'm getting conflicting reports from nissan themselves as to if this year has one. They do say there appears to be a "boost" sensor. I've attached a pic of what nissan calls a "boost" sensor. Let me know if this is truly it or does this year model just not have one. It's the small part on the left. The can on the right is a evap canister I think is what they call it. Thanks.

ANSWER: Chris,

Yes, it is a boost sensor.  I would replace it.  Next, I would be checking to make sure the converter was not melted.  Seems to me, from experience, that the boost would cause the problem.  But, after that I would check to make sure the converter was not partially melted shut.

QUESTION: Converter? I'm not sure what you mean.

Answer
Chris,

The exhaust has a converter that looks something like a muffler.  It is comprised of ceramic material that converts the exhaust from carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide.  If an injector gets stuck or the engine runs too rich it will melt the converter and restrict the exhaust.
