Nissan Repair: 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8S Blower Motor Replacement, 2005 nissan sentra, bicycle spokes

Question
QUESTION: How do you install a blower motor on the 05 Sentra? On the parts website it shows two wires, how do I connect it?
I found tons of help on getting to the motor and the resistor but not how to replace it.

extra info that may help...
About 3 weeks ago everytime I turned on the AC it made a growling noise, like when you stick a card in bicycle spokes.
Then after a week the AC would only work if I set the fan speed to the highest speed. That worked for another week and now I have no AC.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Chad

ANSWER: Hi Chad -

To remove the wires, there should be a tab that you press down and that should unsnap the connector. Once that is done, remove the bolts that hold the motor, maybe about 5 of them. I think they will be 8mm. pull the motor assembly straight out. The fan is independent of the motor, so make sure you save the fan wheel, as you will have to re-use it.

QUESTION: Okay so the new motor I have just has two bare wires (red/black) so would I need to buy a new connector/wiring harness?

ANSWER: Hi Chad -

OK, best thing to do on this one is to save the old connector (cut it out leaving about 4 inches of lead wire). Remove the insulation and install a bullet connector to attach the new motor wire to the wire that has the connector. Do the same for the other wire. I think it is a 14GA wire, so it would be a blue connector, available at any hardware store or automotive store for a few cents each.

Wires and connector
QUESTION: Hi Calvin,

Its Chad again, with the 05 Nissan Sentra.
Today I finally had time to pull the blower motor and its way different then I expected.

The original motor has a built in plug for the connector, so there is a green/black wire and a green/yellow wire on a connector, and that plugs into the motor.

So would I just cut off the connector and then just straight connect the wires?

And if that's the case, How do I know how to connect them, like which one is positive, and negative?

I attached a photo of the wires and the connector.

Thanks,

Chad

Answer
Hi Chad -

Yes, if the connector is different, then you would attach a female spade connector that would fit the existing terminal. Before doing that, though, ensure that the new motor will fit into the space. Due to the plethora of models, sometimes you get the wrong replacement part, especially when you tell me there is a different terminal -

If all is OK, then go ahead and wire direct, using the method I describe above. Your red lead usually goes to the striped wire.
