Nissan Repair: Air flow control dial, 2005 nissan sentra, air flow control

Question
I have a 2005 Nissan Sentra SE 1.8. A few
months ago I was turning the dial to switch
from defrosting the windshield to blowing air
out of the dash vents when I heard a pop
noise and now the air only blows out of my
defrost and the floor vents. How do I repair it
to where it will work like it's supposed to!?
I'm pregnant and live in Louisiana and it's
just toooo hot!!

Hi Ashley -

Looks like the air door for your vents got stuck. It is usually operated by engine vacuum so first of all I would check all hoses going into the car from the firewall outside. Ensure there are no kinks or broken hoses.

If all is well, then you might have to take it to a competent mechanic where they can trace the problem electrically. However, I think this is a simple fix, so it should not be that expensive.
