Nissan Repair: Check Engine on Altima GXE 2001, o2 sensors, ecu computer

Question
I have had my Catalytic converter and both O2 sensors replaced in an attempt to clear a check engine code. I have since been told that it is likely a computer problem and that as the car runs fine and the computer expensive to repair, I should not repair and monitor codes. I do not know code(s), but was wondering how much the computer would cost to obtain and install? Is it something I could do myself or does it need programmed?

Answer
Hi John -

First of all, can you tell me what the codes read now? I think Autozone will do it for free.

That way I can give you more accurate advice. Although the ECU (computer) goes out every once in a while, it is not common, so I want to make sure.

Thank you
