Nissan Repair: nissan micra s 02 plate, nissan micra, glovebox

the control knob which directs heat or cooling to the windscreen or the floor has come off the white plastic cog at the back of the dash .would like to try and reconnect it ,i have got as far as nearly taking the glove box out but 2 screws are stopping me and if i could get these out i could get in with both hands to connect the cog

The glovebox and the panel on the passenger side is integrated.  It comes out as a unit.  There should be a screw at each corner of the bottom portion of the dash.  This is just below the glovebox.  Once these are out, you will most probably have to remove the kick panel to gain access to the screw on the side by the door.  The panel just comes off by.
