Nissan Repair: 2000 Maxima wont start, door locks, loose connection

Hi,
My wife has a 2000 maxima se, 5 speed, with little over 203000km on it. She tried to start the car today, right then she could hear the car try to start and all of the sudden quiet, all the lights went on and off, and that was it. She tried again she did not hear the starter, or anything else. Even the door locks would not work.
Any suggestions?

Hi Martin -

First of all, I would check the connections to the battery. Perhaps you have a loose connection, or corroded wires. Remove both terminals and inspect, also inspect where the wires meet the terminal. If you wiggle them around and the lights re-appear, then you have found the problem.
