Nissan Repair: 1996 nissan sunny serious battery draining?, volt ohm meter, battery problem

Question
Firtly replaced car with a new engine in Nov-Dec 2009 car running fine til a week ago,Car battery is fully charged, then leave car sitting nothing on and overnite car is dead. Thats when we first noticed.  Then we replaced starter motor, checked wirers and now we still have a dead battery problem.

Answer
Barbara,

Either the alternator has died and needs to be replaced or there is a massive drain on the system.  I would charge the battery fully and then get a volt ohm meter and check for 14 volts at the battery.  If there less than 14 at 1000 RPMs you have a weak alternator.  If the alternator is fine then you get the fun of disconencting and checking systems to see where the drain is.
