Nissan Repair: 06 maxima, harness connector, temperature air

Question
2006 maxima all gauges (gas and temperature) air conditioner, speedomoter, rpm, the mileage, all stopped working, most lights on gages are on .the car is still drivable

Answer
Ziad,

If the car still runs and the gauges have gone out would lead me to the harness connector to the cluster.  I say this because most of the instruments are independent and if one goes the others do not.  Now, since they all died means either the cluster connector is messed up or loose or the cluster has blown its step resistor internally that feeds power at the cluster.  Two things here.  You could remove your cluster and clean the conenctor and connection harness with a number 2 eraser.  Shine up the connections, blow off the dust and reinstall.  If this fails you could get yours fixed (way expensive) or source a used on on the internet.  You can take yours a part and put your odometer in the replacement one to keep things legal for mileage and records.  Or, you will have to go to your local DMV and get a paper showing what and why you did what you did.  Kills the value of the car since people get suspicious.  Better to keep the miles correct and avoid the issue.
