Nissan Repair: 1987 Pathfinder VG30I eng, cam lobes, headgaskets

Question
QUESTION: Car won't start Have spark Fuel press 65psi All indexes on timing belt line up No codes in ECM If I turn the dist. clockwise to the stop it will almost start. I'm at a loss Live in Las Vegas do you also. Any ideas Thanks Jeff

ANSWER: Jeff,

Check the distributor for oil on the optics.  If there is oil then the spark will be off.  You could use a timing light and see where it fires on number one.  Yes, I live in Las Vegas.  Give me a call at 856-6604

Answer
Jeff,

I have Jury Duty tomorrow.  I will give you a call in the evening and see how things went.  I would check on the front cylinders about that 40 PSI issue you have.  Either the cam lobes have gone flat or you have burnt valves or blown headgaskets on those cylinders.  Check the oil for the presence of antifreeze or that the antifreeze is being blown out from too much pressure.  I say this since there is no issue with the adjacent cylinders.
