Nissan Repair: 06 altima windows, locks, and seat wont work, electric seat, body control module

Question
Von, On my 06 2.5 Altima the power windows, locks and seat stopped working, the fuses are good. I tried a few different things trying to reset whatever it could be. I set the alarm off (thinking it might be a kill switch malfunction) and they worked for three or four door lock cycles then dead again, I disconnected the battery hot post, waited 5 mins, it worked long enough to roll the windows back up and lock the doors but now their all just dead no matter what I try. When they work, all three work and when their dead, all three are dead. I see on earlier posts you mention the BCM for similar problems. Any information you could give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
Robert,

There is a circuit breaker in the system that will open and kill those items you have mentioned.  I had a 240SX that had the same problem and it turned out to be the electric seat harness was melted to the floor from the converter overheating and cooking the underside of the floorpan.  Not saying that is what happened to your vehicle.  The body control module would not kill the power, selectively, to those items mentioned.  I would be looking at something overloading the system.  Also, recheck fuses adn the fuse link wire at the positive terminal.
