Nissan Repair: car problem, battery replacement, alternator

Question
my car wont crank

Answer
Hi Cornell -

It helps greatly if you can tell me what make, model and year of your vehicle, as obviously I cannot be there to physically check it out.

It also helps if you can give me more info, such as what kind of sound does it make when you turn the key? Clicking, slow turn, no sound at all, do you have red lights on your dash?

In short, you can check your battery quickly by turning on your headlights and try starting the car. If the headlight all of a sudden go off, or very dim, the battery needs replacing. Otherwise it could be the starter or ignition switch.

After battery replacement, you should have the alternator checked.

Hope this helps -
