Nissan Repair: 2001 nissan altima head light, volt ohm meter, nissan altima

Question
My drivers side headlight is not working, I tried a replacement bulb and while checking the light plug I notice that it has three pins, the middle pin looks burt or shorted out, can I get a new plug and replace the old one

Answer
Anthony,

Yes, you can source a plug from the parts store or a wrecking yard.  I would first check to see if you are getting power to the socket with a test light or a volt/ohm meter.  if there is no power check the fuse as the left and right bulbs are fused independently.  If the fuse is good then the headlight switch will have to be replaced.  Do the aforementioned in the order I ahve listed as not to spend money on something that does not need to be replaced.
