Nissan Repair: gears, holiday spirits, speed cruise

87 nissan 5 speed,cruise down the road ,shift 4th to 5th ,wants to pop out of 5th,runs fine till then

it will run fine in all gears but the syncros in the 5th gear have failed.  time for a rebuild or a junkyard tranny (which is cheaper).   this actually is a common problem with late 80's early 90's sentra/pulsar transmissions.   i don't know what car you have but based on my experience with those transmissions, its VERY common.   either way time to get your wallet and your hands dirty.  sorry to bring you bad news in the holiday spirits.   best of luck, let me know how this turns out for you.  xxp_sebby@yahoo.com.
