Nissan Repair: power window, 2006 nissan frontier, nissan frontier

Question
I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier. My driver side power window started acting like the motor was going bad. The window would go down fine but would have a hard time coming up. I could tap the inside of the door and the motor would slowly come up. Then one day the window almost did not come up at all and I had to stop and push up and the window while working the switch. So, I bought a new motor thinking that was the problem, wrong. I replaced the motor and got it put back to gather and tried it out. It did work again but back to the old way of, going to fine and slowly coming back up. I lube the track with silicone and that did very little. I took unplugged the new motor and plugged the old one back in to see if indeed the motor was bad. The old motor worked. I was a little upset. So now I'm stuck. Could it be a relay?

Answer
Frank,

The master switch is the other cause of what you have going on.  The contacts in the switch fail.  I have had three in my Maxima over ten years.  You probably did not waste money on the motor since the brushes tend to fail after time.  I have a 350Z and have replaced both window motors due to the brushes wearing out.  Driver's side goes first.  The brushes are made of really soft material.  So, hold onto it...
