Nissan Repair: engine cut off, power steering pump, nissan maxima

I just replaced the engine on a Nissan maxima 1996.
It drivers good for a week but now it keeps cutting off and having difficult in turning the steering wheel even though the enine is on

If the power steering is hard to turn when the engine is running you either have a defective power steering pump, a defective hose and you are out of fluid or the rack is defective.  If the engine cuts off I would go over the connections and make sure none is loose and that the engine is in time and the idle is correct.
