Nissan Repair: 2000 nissan maxima, obd ii reader, vacuum leaks

Question
Hi Von,  On a 2000 Nissan maxima SE am gunna replace my IACV and my EGR valve because they cam up faulty on  an OBD II reader. I replaced my IACV 6 months ago and when i started my car the rpms jumped back and forth like crazy. i solved the issue by putting the old motor that has two screws on the new IACV, The rpms acted normal. I was expereincing jerks everyknow and then so when i had my car tested the IACV and EGR came out bad on the obd reader. Am replacing the IACV under warranty. The Question is when you replace the IACV do you have to relearn the ECM? Do you think the motor on the first IACV was faulty? Shouldnt the car just act normal after you replace the IACV and turn it on?

Answer
Al,

You do not have to learn the IACV when you replace it on a 2000.  I have a 2000 Maxima SE and it is just a matter of resetting the code and letting it adjust.  If the one you installed was bad that would be the problem.  Make sure the throttle body is clean and you have no vacuum leaks, like bad hoses, and you should be fine.
