Nissan Repair: 1976 Datsun pickup with L20 motor, datsun pickup, needle valve

I rebuild the carb on this truck and now it will only run with the choke on.  What do I do?

Hi Mike -

If the truck was running OK before the carb was rebuilt, then I would remove the carb and double check the work done. Sounds to me like it is out of balance (i.e. too much fuel to air ratio). Remove the spark plugs. If the electrodes are jet black, then take the carb down once again and see if you can find the issue. Clogged jets, float and needle valve clear, misplaced gasket or seal etc.
