Nissan Repair: 2004 Altima, nissan altima, computer scanner

I have a 2004 Nissan Altima it quits running like the key has been turned off, mostly when leaving a stop or deceleration it is sporadic. it will restart however it sounds like it is turning over twice as fast as it should for about several seconds before starting. it just started the problem. will the dealer be able to get a  code if it is not having the problem at the time I take it in?

If you do not have a check engine light there will not be a code set.  There could be a pending code but I would not think they would get one.  What will need to be done is to drive the car with their scanner connected (consult II) and see what happens when the car dies.  They will just run around the block until it dies and the computer scanner will record the issue.
