Nissan Repair: 04 nissan altima wont start, nissan altima, battery connections

im not sure if its the battery or starter but when i tried to start it, when turned over makes a clicking sound? any suggestions?

Hi Tammy -

With the headlights on, try starting the vehicle. If the clicking is slower, or no clicks at all, then it is the battery.

If the clicking is the same, it is probably the starter.

Sometimes you can get the starter going by tapping it with a hammer or similar. This knocks the carbon off the brushes and you can get a few more starts out of it.

Also check all the battery connections for looseness or corrosion.
