Nissan Repair: check engine light, canister purge valve, egr valve

Question

I went to auto zone they check it and i had a P0402 egr valve stuck open, fail egr pressure senor, failed egr valve, failed egr position senor. P0440 purge or vent solenoid defective  code

Answer
James,

Replace the EGR valve and reset the codes.  The canister purge valve code is the other problem.  Sometimes they stick.  But, you need the EGR for sure.  So, replace it first and clear the code by disconnecting the battery for five minutes and reconnect it.  The codes will be gone.  If the P0440 comes back then look for a vacuum line coming from the canister first.  If the hoses are in good order then replace the canister purge valve.  The canister purge valve is located at the back of the car, underneath and behind the rear tire.
