we have a 1996 nissan micra lhd 1ltr we have a problem with one of the head lights not working on the passager side it was working fine a week ago then we lost the main light i have checked the connecters all fine and checked for power to the light there is no power getting to the connector the other light is fine and both side lights work

Replace the headlight switch.  Nissan uses a seperate circuit for both left and right sides.  The high beams are on seperate circuits too.  The master headlight switch uses carbon contacts for each and these get old and fail to make contact.  So, replace the headlight switch and your problem should be solved.
