Nissan Repair: locked trunk, flathead screwdriver, center portion

Question
My key in the trunk and its lock. The unlock button inside is not working. This is a nissan sendra se2.0 4cycle 2001. Any other way to open?

Answer
HI Roth -

There are a couple ways

First - remove the back seat and there should be access to the trunk from there. You will need a long screwdriver or similar object to unlatch the lock from inside.

Second - the lock can be drilled out from outside. Start from a 1/8 inch bit and drill out the center portion of the lock until you can see the slotted latch inside, and then get a flathead screwdriver and turn the latch.

Hope this helps -
